DESCRIPTION

In this online class, we'll explore the improvised format, La Ronde. The La Ronde is based on a 1950 French movie and features scenes focused on two people. Each subsequent scenes follows one of the two characters from the previous scene until we return to and conclude with the first two characters. It's a circular a series of vignettes, thus the name, La Ronde.

We will focus on what makes two person scenes pop. We'll learn and practise tools for listening, heightening and driving two-person scenes through character wants. We'll hold onto characters while showing the audience a new side of them from one scene to the next. Finally, our focus will shift to how to find theme, and weave threads without too much repetition in a long form focused on relationships.

What you'll get:

  • Learn a new (or familiar!) format deeply
  • Practice strong character work
  • Explore improvised relationships

This class is appropriate for intermediate to experienced players
