DESCRIPTION

We're going to learn narrative by following people's instincts on story. We'll learn what works and what doesn't work by collectively building stories. Let's throw rigid formats and structures out the window and explore without a map.

We're going to go slow and improvise a series of plays, as many as we can fit into each session. Each step along the way we'll talk about where we want the story to go and how to get there. We can organically build a story and characters with an emphasis on collective creation. Let's tell stories and make everything up as we go!

TEACHER BIO

Vinny Francois has over 25 years experience as a professional improviser in both English and French. He's a founding director of Improv College, Camp Zipzap (an improv camp for adults), was the Executive Producer of Mprov: The Montreal Improv Festival and co-founder of the Montreal Improv Theatre. Vinny has performed in Just For Laughs and improv festivals around the world. He currently writes for The Beaverton and co-hosts the science-comedy podcast Learn Real Good.
